Adult Ministries Staff

Steve Poston

Executive Pastor of Adult Ministries

Steve joined the Center Pointe staff in November of 2007.  He and his wife Jill met while attending Milligan College, and were married in 1991.  They are the proud parents of Caleb and Kate.  Steve graduated from Milligan in 1990 with a Bachelor¹s Degree in Bible, and has completed coursework toward a Master's Degree in Pastoral Leadership from Cincinnati Christian University.

After a 17-year youth ministry at Fern Creek Christian Church in Louisville, KY, Steve came to Center Pointe, in 2007, as our Student Pastor.  In the summer of 2010, he transitioned into the role of Executive Pastor, and led the Center Pointe staff team for 6 years.  In 2016, Steve’s leadership experience was focused into the new role of Mission Pastor, in order to develop and align our mission-focused ministries.  After laying the foundation of that ministry, he returned to a strategic leadership role in 2017, as the Executive Pastor of Adult Discipleship.

Steve’s hope in his new role, is to lead the adult ministries team collaboratively, so that all goals align with the Center Pointe vision.  Steve continues to pursue his passion for developing leaders that will focus on reaching the lost and raising up the next generation of the church to become mature disciples of Christ.  In addition to being passionate about his family and the church, Steve has been known to get excited about favorite sports team and a good movie.

Peter Mueller  Email Icon Blue

Groups Pastor

Peter joined the Center Pointe staff in January of 2013 as the Connections Pastor.  After 20-plus years in the field of mechanical engineering, he felt a call to ministry at the beginning of 1999.

By the end of 1999, Peter was serving as an associate pastor in Wilmington Ohio, while also attending Wilmington College in pursuit of a dual major in both Religion and Philosophy.  By 2003, Peter and family had moved to Northwest Indiana to plant a church.  He served there as the Senior Pastor for nine years.  During that time, Peter studied the Reformation at Valparaiso University, and later graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Liberty University.  With over 17 years of ministry experience as a student, associate, and senior pastor, Peter has a passion for cultivating leaders and establishing systems that aid in expanding the borders of God’s Kingdom.

Peter and his wife Linda married in 1992.  Their family consists of four daughters; Jamie, Jesi, Audrey and Emily… and two awesome Golden Retrievers named Elliot & Myles!

Both Peter and Linda have experienced the overwhelming impact of Jesus in their own lives, and have been motivated to love and serve others as a result.  They consider it a privilege to spend their lives extending that invitation to others.  They both seek to connect people to transforming relationships… hopefully one that has the potential to lead them to live out their love for Christ both missionally and in community.  They believe that in a community of others, who are seeking the heart of Jesus, we can create environments of love, compassion, and grace that make all the difference in the world.

Dan McSwain

Mission Pastor

Dan grew up in Fairfield, Ohio and moved to West Chester when he was in junior high.  Dan’s family was a part of the original Center Pointe church plant when it was known as Lakota Christian Church.  He can remember the church meeting in a house, the country club, Lakota High School, and finally the original building at this address.  He graduated from Lakota High School in 1994, and served as an intern for Gary Burbank, at WLW.  Eventually, Dan graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Christian University.

After an internship at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, Dan moved to Visalia, California, and became a Student Minister at New Hope Christian Church.  While at New Hope, he met his beautiful wife Kristin.  In 2006, Dan went on to lead Student Ministry at Discovery Church in Simi Valley, California, where his adorable daughters Isabella and Adisyn were born.  While at Discovery, Dan discovered his passion for leading people on mission trips, in order to enhance their relationships with Christ.

In 2010, Dan joined Center Pointe as the Student Minister, and now is leading as our Missions Pastor.  He currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Project Manana, a mission serving impoverished families in the Dominican Republic.  Dan has a strong desire to see Center Pointe partners connect with missions both locally and globally, in order that they might build Kingdom relationships that will last a lifetime.
