NextGen Staff

Tammy Phillips

Executive Pastor of NextGen Ministries

Tammy joined the Center Pointe staff in December 2003.  She graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a degree in Christian Education, and received her teaching certificate in elementary education.  Tammy and her husband Scott were married in 1990 and have three children, Tyler, Justin, and Carley.  The Phillips have been at CPCC since October 1998.  Outside of ministry, Tammy loves hanging with her family and going on adventures, especially to National Parks!  A trip to Disney now and then fills her with happiness!

Tammy’s passion is for God to utilize each of us, as a community, to help children and students experience the love of Jesus... to learn to love Him, and to develop a faith in Him that lasts a lifetime.  It brings her so much joy to be in the front row watching life-change happen with kids and leaders!  Raising children can be challenging, and so Tammy loves encouraging parents.  She also loves serving with “the best team ever… they deeply want to make disciples out of the next generation!”

Logan McElroy

Student Pastor

Logan comes to us from Raleigh, North Carolina.  The midwest is an adjustment, but he says as long as he has access to sweet tea, he’ll survive!  Logan graduated from Georgia State University in May of 2013 with a degree in marketing.  At GSU, he was a three time intramural champion in multiple sports (kickball, softball, and flag football).  While in college, he interned with BigStuf Camps and the Daraja Children's choir of Africa.  Those are experiences that changed his life.  After graduating, Logan spent nearly four years on staff at a large church in Raleigh, NC working as a Student Ministry Coordinator.

In his spare time, Logan routes for Atlanta sports teams, and he’s a Carolina Hurricanes hockey fan, but he bleeds Georgia State Basketball.  His other hobbies include reading, watching movies, playing video games, snow skiing, playing sports (a torn ACL makes that hard sometimes), and singing in the car!

Logan and his wife Leah were married in March of 2018.  He counts her as his “best half… clearly out of my league!”  They have a fur baby... a cat named Raleigh.  She is an incredibly energetic, ball of fun.

Logan loves ministry… especially student ministry.  His life was changed in student ministry, and his passion and joy lies in seeing students have a similar experience. His belief is that students have the potential the change the world.

Mandy Kylander

NextGen Leader Development Coordinator

Mandy has been attending Center Pointe since 1998, and joined the staff in June of 2005.  Mandy provides leadership and training to NextGen volunteers, in order that they can minister to children and students better.  A graduate of Vincennes University, Mandy has 30 years of experience serving in children's ministry.  She and her husband, Chris, have three sons.  They have gained two daughters, and a grandson!  Mandy loves all things Disney, and baseball... especially the Cincinnati Reds!

Mandy has a genuine passion for sharing the truth of Scripture with children in a way that is meaningful to them, so that they can have a lifetime relationship with God.

Libby Willms

NextGen Leader Development Coordinator

Libby has been a partner and active in Children’s Ministry at Center Pointe since 2002.  After graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education, Libby taught in her hometown of Carmel, Indiana.  She and her family moved to Liberty Township in 1997 where she began volunteering in the Lakota schools. Libby loves people and meeting and working with so many over the years has been a tremendous blessing to her.

Here at CPCC, Libby has led children at many age levels and has coached and written curriculum for the 456 Explorations program.  She now loves sharing her experiences and insight supporting our coaches, small group leaders and many volunteers in our NextGen Ministry.

Libby and her husband Dirk have been married since 1990 and have three children, Whitney, Jack and Emily.

Karen Reed

NextGen Content Coordinator

Karen joined the Center Pointe staff in December 2003 and has since served in many administrative capacities over the years, primarily supporting Children and Student Ministries.  In April of 2017 Karen began a new role coordinating programming content for preschool and elementary children in NextGen Ministries.  Karen enjoys using her skills to offer hope and faith-building encouragement to children and their families.

Karen and her husband Mike were married in 1992 and have two boys, Evan & Wesley.  The Reeds have been at CPCC since November 2000.

Lisa Smith

NextGen Environment Coordinator

Lisa has been at CPCC since 2000, except for 4 and a half years when she and her family lived out of state. She has a long history of ministry service at CPCC, having served in Women’s Ministry Leadership between 2001-2004, and in NextGen Ministry as a Small Group Leader Coach between 2009-2017.  She is passionate about God’s Word and its life-changing impact.  She loves the opportunity to use her creativity to help enhance NextGen teaching and environments.

Lisa received a BA in Public Relations and Business from Xavier University.  She and her husband, Paul, married in 1995 and have two sons, Matthew and Ben.

Suzanne Tunney

Nursery Coordinator

Suzanne graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Education, and then Xavier with a Masters in School Counseling.  She taught for 10 years in Fairfield as a special education teacher, and has been attending Center Pointe with her family since 2009.

She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Ben, since 2005.  They graduated from Lakota (East) in 1998, and enjoy working out, reading, and cooking healthy new recipes together.  Staying active is very important in the Tunney household! They’ve been small groups leaders for the class of 2021 here at Center Pointe since 2015, and are raising three boys of their own… Blake, Brad and Carter.  The boys are busy with soccer and baseball. The Tunney household includes a dog named Ike and a rescue cat named Biscuit!

Suzanne is happy that the family can serve together at Center Pointe. She believes that being involved allows her boys to see the church working as God intended, and that serving in the nursery is a wonderful way to serve each other, while filling babies up with God's love!
