Shawn Spradling   

Lead Pastor

 

Shawn joined the Center Pointe staff in August of 2002 as the Worship and Involvement Pastor.  Since that time, he has directed a variety of ministries including Adult Discipleship, Life Groups, and Administration.  In August of 2009, Shawn became the 5th Senior Pastor in Center Pointe’s history.  He serves as the primary communicator…teaching, preaching, and casting vision for where God is leading the Center Pointe community as we Love God radically, Serve other compassionately, and Lead people to Jesus.

 

Shawn graduated from CCU in 1996 with a dual degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Ministries and also completed a Master of Arts degree in Theology in 2009.  He and his wife Janelle met while attending Cincinnati Christian University and were married in December of 1998.  Shawn loves having a front row seat to seeing God transform the lives of broken people and watching them live out their faith.  Janelle is a stay-at-home mom taking care of their two sons, Campbell and Carter.

 

 

Steve Poston  

Executive Pastor of Adult Ministries

 

Steve joined the Center Pointe staff in November of 2007.  He and his wife Jill met while attending Milligan College and were married in 1991.  They are the proud parents of Caleb and Kate.  Steve graduated from Milligan in 1990 with a Bachelor¹s Degree in Bible and has completed coursework toward a Master's Degree in Pastoral Leadership from Cincinnati Christian University.

 

After a 17-year youth ministry at Fern Creek Christian Church in Louisville, KY, Steve came to Center Pointe in 2007 as our Student Pastor.  In the summer of 2010, he transitioned into the role of Executive Pastor and led the Center Pointe staff team for 6 years.  In 2016, the strategic decision was made to refocus Steve’s leadership experience on integrating and aligning our mission focused ministries.  He works to develop local and global partnerships and is leading the effort to establish Center Pointe’s impact in the neighboring city of Hamilton.  Steve continues to pursue his passion of developing leaders that will focus on reaching the lost and raising up the next generation of the church to become mature disciples of Christ.  In addition to being passionate about his family and the church, Steve has been known to get excited about a favorite sports team and a good movie.

 

 

Dan McSwain  

Mission Pastor

 

Dan grew up in Cincinnati and his family moved to West Chester when he was in junior high.  Dan was a part of the original Center Pointe church plant when it was known as Lakota Christian Church and can remember meeting in a house, the country club, Lakota High School, and eventually the original building that we are in now.  He graduated from Lakota High School in 1994, was an intern for Gary Burbank, at WLW, went to the University of Cincinnati, and eventually transferred to Cincinnati Christian University.

 

After an internship at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, Dan moved to Visalia, California to serve as the student minister at New Hope Christian Church.  While at New Hope he met the most beautiful woman in the world, Kristin Peterson.  They were married in April, 2004.  In 2006, Dan and Kristin joined the team at Discovery Church in Simi Valley, California as the Student Minister, where he oversaw the Jr. and Sr. high family ministry.  They are the proud parents of two beautiful princesses, Isabella Alyse and Adisyn Kate.  Dan and Kristin have a passion for discipling students, partnering with parents, and raising up the next generation of leaders.

  

 

Tammy Phillips  

Executive Pastor of NextGen Ministries

 

Tammy joined the Center Pointe staff in December 2003.  Tammy graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a degree in Christian Education.  She also received her teaching certificate in elementary education.  Tammy’s passion is for God to use us together to help children experience the love of Jesus and learn to love Him and develop a faith in Him to last a lifetime.

 

Tammy and her husband Scott were married in 1990 and have three children, Tyler, Justin, and Carley. The Phillips have been at CPCC since October 1998.

  

 

 

Mandy Kylander  

NextGen Leader Development Coordinator

 

Mandy graduated from Vincennes University with an A.S. Degree and has 15 years experience serving in Children’s Ministry. Mandy has a genuine passion for sharing the truth of Scripture with children in a way that is meaningful to them, so that they can have a lifetime relationship with God.

 

Mandy has been attending Center Pointe since 1998 and joined the staff in June of 2005. She and her husband Chris were married in 1985 and have three children, Tim, Mark & Jonathan. 

 

 

 

Karen Reed  

NextGen Content Coordinator

 

Karen joined the Center Pointe staff in December 2003 and has since served in many administrative capacities over the years, primarily supporting Children and Student Ministries.  In April of 2017 Karen began a new role coordinating programming content for preschool and elementary children in NextGen Ministries.  Karen enjoys using her skills to offer hope and faith-building encouragement to children and their families.

 

Karen and her husband Mike were married in 1992 and have two boys, Evan & Wesley.  The Reeds have been at CPCC since November 2000.

 

 

Libby Willms  

NextGen Leader Development Coordinator

 

Libby has been a partner and active in Children’s Ministry at Center Pointe since 2002.  After graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education, Libby taught in her hometown of Carmel, Indiana.  She and her family moved to Liberty Township in 1997 where she began volunteering in the Lakota schools. Libby loves people and meeting and working with so many over the years has been a tremendous blessing to her.

 

Here at CPCC, Libby has led children at many age levels and has coached and written curriculum for the 456 Explorations program.  She now loves sharing her experiences and insight supporting our coaches, small group leaders and many volunteers in our NextGen Ministry.

 

Libby and her husband Dirk have been married since 1990 and have three children, Whitney, Jack and Emily.

 

 

 

Jenny Dorr  

NextGen Environment Coordinator

 

Jenny has a long, ministry-rich history.  She's served in several different roles on both large and small church staffs.  She also spent seven years leading a church plant with her husband in Liberty Township, OH.  Jenny is also passionate about her family. She married her husband, Dave, in 2000 and has spent the last 13 years primarily as a stay-at-home mom to her 3 kids: Piper, Sawyer and Evie.

 

Karen Statzer  

NextGen Nursery Coordinator

 

Karen joined the Center Pointe staff in March of 2017. She graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Education and from The University of Cincinnati with a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. During her career, Karen has taught at and administrated a Christian childcare center, taught at UC’s Arlitt Child and Family Research Education Center, was a professor of Early Childhood Education at CCU, and wrote early childhood curriculum for Standard Publishing. Karen is passionate about helping young children learn they can trust God, have a relationship with Him, and know they are loved by Him and His people.

 

Karen and her husband Steve were married in 1988 and have a son, Ethan. The Statzers have been a part of the CPCC family since 2002.

 

 

Peter Mueller  Email Icon Blue

Groups Pastor

 

Peter began his ministry calling right here in West Chester in 1999.  Soon thereafter, he was serving as an associate pastor for a church in Wilmington, OH while attending Wilmington College pursuing a dual major in Religion & Philosophy.  In 2003, he and his family moved to Northwest Indiana to plant a church where he served as the Senior Pastor for 9 years.  During that time, Peter attended Valparaiso University studying the Reformation and later graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Liberty University.

 

Peter and his wife Linda married in 1992, their family consist of four daughters; Jamie, Jesi, Audrey & Emily.. Oh and one awesome Golden Retriever named Henry. 

 

Peter is passionate about connecting people into transforming relationships that lead to living out faith missionally and in community with others seeking after the heart of Jesus, where together we create environments of love, compassion and grace that make all the difference in the world.

  

 

Andy Thomas  Email Icon Blue

Creative Technologies Pastor

 

Andy joined the Center Pointe team in June of 2013.  He was born and raised in California where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Stacy.  They have been married since 1993 and have three children, Kaitlyn, Matt, and Molly.  They moved to Cincinnati in 2010 to join the staff of LifeSpring Christian Church as their worship minister.

 

He has also served as the worship pastor at New Hope Christian Church in Visalia, California, the technical arts director at The Church at Rocky Peak in Chatsworth, California, and as a staff member at Westlake Recording Studios in West Hollywood, California.

 

Andy has a biblical studies degree from Hope International University and has graduated from the Master Recording Program at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.

 

As technology continues to advance and becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, Andy strives to utilize it as a creative and effective tool to help spread the message of Jesus, to move people closer to knowing the heart of the Father, and to encourage a life in step with the Spirit.

  

 

Ryan White  Email Icon Blue

Executive Pastor of Operations

 

Ryan joined the team at Center Pointe in December 2012.  He married his beautiful wife Andrea on October 20, 2001.  Ryan and Andrea have four children, Katelyn, Jenna, Andrew, and Natalie.  Ryan graduated from Cincinnati Christian University in 1999 with degrees in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry.  He then received his M.A. in New Testament Studies from Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

 

Ryan has a passion for the Church and the impact it can have on the community if the people in it are truly devoted to God’s call on their lives.  God has called us to be and make disciples.  When we do this the world can’t help but see the radiant light of God’s grace.  Ryan’s goal is that we also take care of the buildings and resources God has blessed us with so we can effectively use them to further God’s ministry through Center Pointe Christian Church.

 

 

Jodie Edwards, PhD, LPPC  

Director of Counseling

 

Jodie has been a partner with Center Pointe Christian Church since 2007 and the Director of Counseling since 2010.  She also serves as a professor in the Master of Arts in Counseling program at Cincinnati Christian University. She earned her MA degree in Counseling from CCU and her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University.  As a licensed psychologist and clinical counselor, she specializes in using evidence-based approaches for couples therapy, anxiety, depression, grief, parenting issues, divorce, and more.  Jodie and her husband, Chris, have been married over 20 years.  Along with their children they enjoy hiking, gardening, and traveling.

 

 

Stephanie Shell, MA, LPCC-S  

Associate Director of Counseling

 

Stephanie is a Professional Clinical Counselor - Supervisor in the state of Ohio, a certified Prepare/Enrich marriage and premarital counselor, and adjunct professor in the Master of Arts in Counseling program at Cincinnati Christian University (CCU).  She earned her MA degree in Counseling from CCU.  She is passionate about creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative environment where clients can thoughtfully explore their unique experiences and problems.  Her clinical experience includes depression, anxiety, grief, couples and family counseling, and working with teens and adults.

 

Out of a passion for fostering healing within relationships, she has pursued advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples (and Family) Therapy.  Her goal is to help build secure, resilient, and satisfying relationships between partners and within families in a non-blaming environment.  Stephanie and her husband, Dustin, were married in 2006 and began attending Center Pointe in 2008.  They enjoy life together as an adventure and opportunity for continual growth and connection with their beautiful daughters, Collette & Elena.

  

 

 

Karen Keebler  

Receptionist

 

Karen has been at Center Pointe since September of 2000 and joined the CPCC staff in February of 2007.  She and her husband Rick were married in 1978.  They have four children, Jessica, Ashley, Cory & Bryan.

 

 

Amy Rednour  

Receptionist

 

Amy has been at Center Pointe since the beginning of 2011 and joined the staff in February 2013.  She and her husband Kevin were married in 1997.  They have two beautiful girls, Emma and Abbey, who are both active in the church.  Kevin serves on the Security Team.  Amy provides office support and serves at the Kids Pointe Welcome Desk.
