BANNER Marriage

At Center Pointe we value family! We believe that helping married people cultivate healthy and thriving marriages helps create strong families.  Our marriage groups introduce couples to 4 Habits of a Great Marriage, along with providing additional events to help equip couples.

What are the 4 Habits

  • Have Serious Fun. Having fun as a couple is not optional; it’s essential. We believe the best way to protect your marriage is to enjoy it regularly.  (Proverbs 5:18)
  • Respect and Love. Of the few verses God gives to husbands and wives, the directive to respect and love is commanded more than any other.  This truth really can set us free when we understand the interplay of respect and love.  (Ephesians 5:21-33)
  • Love God First. When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, His answer was to love God with all you are and to love others as well as you love yourself. Loving God in your individual life greatly impacts your married life.  (Matthew 22:37-40)
  • Practice Your Promise.  Our spouses trusted that we would do what we promised when we said, “I do”—to love each other and to stay together no matter what.  Knowing and experiencing a lasting commitment is vital to every marriage.  (Proverbs 5:18; Malachi 2:15)

Love and Respect

Excited yet burdened about male and female relationships, Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and his wife Sarah launched the Love & Respect Conferences in 1999.  Based on over three decades of counseling as well as scientific and biblical research, this conference has given hope and new life to thousands of marriages.

There will be three major questions asked and answered:

  • Why do we negatively react to each other in marriage?  This will be explained in what is called the Crazy Cycle.
  • How do I best motivate my spouse?  The Energizing Cycle answers this question.
  • What if my spouse does not respond to me?  The Rewarded Cycle informs us what to do.

Respectfully Yours

We know love best motivates a woman.  But do we know what best motivates a man?  God has designed men and women differently… Discover the secret that empowers a woman to influence the man in her life.  Ephesians 5:33 reveals a truth hidden in plain sight for nearly 2000 years, that a husband is to love and a wife is to respect.  All over the country, as women become acquainted with the Love and Respect message they ask, “Can you help me better understand what respect looks like?  How do I actually do this?”

Respectfully Yours is the answer to these questions and much more!  As we unpack the secret to power and influence in your marriage, we will:

  • Distinguish Biblical respect from being a doormat
  • Discover how to stop negative thought patterns
  • Enjoy a life-changing truth: not wrong, just different
  • Learn practical yet powerful ways to apply respect
  • Reap the eternal rewards of doing marriage God's way

Our Night Out is a large group experience that we host at the church.  This man-friendly event typically has fun games, dessert, and inspiring teaching.  This is the kind of event that can be fun to attend as a double date or with your small group, but it is not a requirement to attend.  Check out our Event page for our next Our Night Out opportunity.
